The general objective of the Biodonostia HRI Training Plan is to contribute to maintaining and strengthening the quality of the R&D&I activities produced in the framework of the priority areas, to generating a critical mass of researchers, and to constituting an additional mechanism of integration, fostering transfer and dissemination of the knowledge generated to the scientific community, and to the productive industry and to society in general.
The Biodonostia HRI offers three kinds of training for different profiles: Summer Work Experience, Degree Training Internships and Master’s Degree Training Internships. Below you can find more detailed information.
Degree training has the purpose of introducing the research culture to students in the last year of their biomedical studies, whether in Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Basic and Experimental Biomedicine, or others. The Institute therefore provides tutorship for curricular and extracurricular work experience.
General requirements for work experience applicants:
Students who are at least in the third year of the degree courses in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy, Basic and Experimental Biomedicine, or those related to experimental sciences in the Bio area who are studying at any university that has an agreement with IIS Biodonostia are eligible for these internships.
Call for applications:
The Biodonostia Health Research Institute, in accordance with the agreement of its Permanent Committee announces the call for applicants for its summer training programme annually between February and March.
To register and obtain more information on the call for applications, CLICK HERE when the call is active. We will only accept applications made through the HRI Biodonostia website.
Degree students from any University can produce their Graduation Project (GP), either during the summer months or throughout the school year, provided that the credits required by their University for this purpose are covered. Each student will be assigned a tutor, a researcher at the centre, who will be responsible for directing their work during the period required to produce their GP. The centre will accept students whose University has a formal agreement with the Institute and the length of their internship will depend on the requirements established by their University with respect to ECTs or credits for dedication to the project. Formalities of the GP internship:
- It is indispensable that the University from which the student comes has a Framework Agreement with the HRI Biodonostia. Should no agreement exist with the University in question, formalities will be initiated for its formalisation.
- Submission of the Appendix to the Framework Agreement, specific for each student, with all 3 signatures: the University, the receiving centre and the student.
Although the students’ Master’s Degree training depends on the University at which they are studying said degree, the Biodonostia HRI will accept Master’s Degree students wishing to complete their Graduation Project (GP), established as practical work experience at our centre. The Biodonostia HRI will provide a tutor to supervise and direct the student’s GP and to provide them with guidance for its final presentation and defence. The centre will accept students whose University has a formal agreement with the Institute and the length of their internship will depend on the requirements established by their University with respect to ECTs or credits for dedication to this project. Formalities of the GP Internship:
- It is indispensable that the University from which the student comes has a Framework Agreement with the HRI Biodonostia. Should no agreement exist with the University in question, formalities will be initiated for its formalisation.
