The Histology Platform was set up to meet demand from research projects involving histological tissue processing.
It aims to provide technical and scientific support to Institute researchers, associated companies and external companies. It offers a wide range of histopathology techniques:
Nikon 80i microscope to obtain clear and fluorescence field photos (filters for green, blue, red). Plus camera to take pictures.
The platform manages its processes according to the guidelines of Standard UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015, while its Quality Management System is certified by AENOR. This lends added value to the work carried out by the Platform, particularly with a view to external applicants for its services, and fosters trust regarding the extent of the Quality applied to the processing of their requests.
There are two ways of using the Histology Platform services, DIY or contracted services.
DIY
Access to the Histology Platform will only be given to users who are qualified to use the apparatus.
Institute researchers can book equipment via NAS/Research Area/Histology Platform/Book apparatus.
Rules on equipment use and general operation must be followed.
The tissue processor and the automated stainer will only ever be handled by the Histology Platform. The platform staff must be sent samples the previous working day.
A minimum number of 16 samples must be compiled to use the tissue processor and 20 slides for the automated stainer in order to optimise performance and operation. In the event of not meeting the minimum number, it is possible to choose “urgent” processes (please enquire).
To contract the Histology Platform’s services, please fill out the request form and send it by email to the manager: ANA.AIASTUIPUJANA@bio-gipuzkoa.eus
A quote will be issued for this request, requiring approval from the main project researcher.
Samples have to reach the Platform in appropriate conditions for the chosen technique, labelled for clear identification.
Technical advice can be provided for researchers on request.
To request the different services of the histology platform you must send by email to ANA.AIASTUIPUJANA@bio-gipuzkoa.eus the following application form duly completed, upon delivery of the samples. The first time a request is made, the billing data should be provided to the same address.
After this request, a budget will be approved by the principal investigator of the project and at the end of the service a report with all the results will be issued.
