The sessions had the objective to update different aspects of clinical interest related to the illness.
San Sebastián was the setting on 20th and 21st October of the meeting DECIPHERING MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, organised by the Biodonostia HRI and sponsored by Novartis with the Backing of Continuing Education requested from the Spanish Society of Neurology.
The sessions had the objective to update different subjects of clinical interest.
Dr. Javier Olascoaga opened the event on the 20th at Biodonostia, structured into two areas. The first, moderated by Dr. Teresa Ayuso, looked at what to do in different situations of Clinical Practice, leading onto the second subject, on the latest Breakthroughs in the disease, directed by Dr. Dionisio Fernández.
The following day, the event opened at the San Telmo Museum with the area which, entitled Controversy, set about defending different positions: taking action or abstaining in the event of prolonged clinical radiological stability, whether NEDA is more practical than MEDA in clinical practice or if preventing cerebral atrophy should be the gold standard of effectiveness three years from the beginning of the disease. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Myrian Solar.
This was followed by two talks on Microbiota and Multiple Sclerosis given by Dr. David Otaegui, and on New Approaches to Multiple Sclerosis, given by Dr. José E. Meca.
The event represented yet another step forward in strengthening ties and sharing knowledge and new features related to research in Multiple Sclerosis.
